Jil Littlejohn began her life in inner city Atlanta, Georgia, but did not let the disadvantages of her youth hold her back from rising above challenges and accomplishing many firsts in her education, activities and career. 
She is the youngest member of the Greenville City Council and has served as Mayor Pro Tem since 2009 and the first female President and CEO of the Urban League of the Upstate. She also is the founder of the Talented Tenth Greenville Leadership Conference; the organizations goal is to connect young minority professionals with established business and civic leaders across the Southeast.
Littlejohn’s mother was her biggest cheerleader, telling her, “You can do anything you dream.” Her father believed in her and sacrificed so she could attend college. Littlejohn used the encouragement and her interest in multi-cultural issues to move to Seville Spain, for undergraduate training in Cross Cultural Communications. She then earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Intercultural Studies for Business at Wofford University and an MBA from Webster University. She is fluent in Spanish.
She has addressed audiences ranging from business owners and corporate executives, to educators, government officials and youth and community leaders. She speaks on multiple topics including leadership, career management, economic development, public policy, academic excellence, youth development, challenges facing African-Americans and people of color, and Women’s Leadership. Littlejohn has shared her education and experience to audiences across the Southeast, including Michelin, BMW Manufacturing, Walmart, Webster University and Virginia College. She has spoken at the National League of Cities, the National and Upstate Urban Leagues, the United Way and the Rotary Club.
Littlejohn has been honored with awards for her accomplishments, including the Greenville Magazine50 Most Influential People of 2009, Ebony MagazineTop Young Leaders Under 30. She has a Dale Carnegie Public Speaking Certification and had completed the Greenville, Spartanburg and South Carolina Leadership programs.

Created a Strategic Marketing Plan for a University of South Carolina Student-created business in Marketing 701 class.
